EASTBOURNE ENTERTAINER’S KITCHEN renovation
Looks effortless. Works harder than it lets on.
Our clients wanted a kitchen to match the way they live: understated and generous, practical for daily life, and just as at ease with a full house and a feast in the making.
The brief included creating an island with seating that lets people face each other, and predominantly white cabinetry lifted by one considered accent.
The layout maintained an unconventional angle to protect the client's non-negotiable — and stunning — sea view, then built out for two dishwashers, a robust stainless steel bench, and an extensive line-up of appliances.
The space is large with plenty of capacity, so the real challenge was ensuring these functional essentials didn't compromise the calm, uncluttered and interesting space the design set out to create.
Rather than treating the sea and garden as a backdrop, we let them shape the material choices: sandy tones to soften the space, a kelp-green tile for quiet contrast, and tinted mirror surfaces that carry the sea and garden outlook back into the room from every angle. Calm and effortless at a glance, it rewards a closer look for the capability it quietly holds.
